Emma Hemingway
Emma Hemingway brings her life experience forward to share the painful yet rewarding journey that enabled her to grow as a person. This story was straightforward for her to write, as she remembers every detail and how determined she was to save her uncle’s legacy as “The Treasure Hunter of Amsterdam.” Her uncle introduced her to an art world she knew very little about. Because of the path he paved for her, she studied all art forms and feels it has enriched every aspect of her life. In her travels, she met brilliant scholars who taught her a wealth of knowledge, for which she is sincerely indebted to them for their time and patience along the way.
She would like to acknowledge the City of Amsterdam for its warmth and hospitality. She fell in love with this city over and over again, as well as its beautiful country. She remembers the kind people of The Netherlands, who welcomed her with open arms and named her the “Dutch Girl from America.
